Why Therapy?
Being challenged in life is inevitable, but being defeated is optional.
Greek philosopher Socrates said that "The unexamined life is not worth living."
Why do we do the things that we do, why do we think the way we think, and why do we feel the way we feel? We live in a world where we experience stress and frustration on a daily basis. We live in a world where most of us have experienced trauma of some sort. When we are not aware of our frustration an stress, our daily experiences can become traumatic. When we live life to the fullest, we develop an awareness of ourselves - meaning to allow ourselves to fully experience who we are. the unconscious mind comes into awareness.
In therapy we deal with our emotional wounds of the past. We seek to understand the past, because the past is the ally in understanding the present and to go from a dysfunctional place, to a place of optimal functioning.
We also deal with our daily issues - we learn that being challenged in life is inevitable, but being defeated is optional. Therapy helps to fully understand oneself and make changes where it is necessary for the benefit of better relationships.
